Customer Logistics Coordinator

Position Summary: In this role you will consistently provide customers and valued partners high levels of service, timely and accurate communication and solutions that support our collective business objectives. As an essential part of Gorton’s supply chain, you will collaborate with Gorton’s Sales team, our customers and 3PL partners and drive positive performance metrics pertaining to logistics and service goals.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for accurately advancing customer purchase orders and ensuring on-time delivery and strong fill rates
  • Demonstrate expertise in requirements of assigned accounts including order management preferences, seasonal and promotional orders, OTIF compliance and specialized communication tools/reports
  • Demonstrate in depth knowledge of inventory operations and supply chain-related finance activities to support a proactive approach to sales order management and deduction avoidance/mitigation
  • Create and maintain documentation relevant to assigned accounts
  • Highlight process improvement opportunities to Supply Chain
  • Address complex issues, make decisions and provide direction as necessary
  • Maintain strong relationships with sales agents and Gorton’s Region Business Managers
  • Lead or actively participate in regular meetings pertaining to assigned accounts
  • Analyze problems and develop solutions within guidelines while factoring customer expectations, sales needs and operations considerations 
  • Ensure key metrics are understood to drive continuous improvement and cost savings within order management/logistics activities
  • Leverage existing reporting and system tools, identify opportunities for enhancement as business needs or customer requirements change
  • Perform root cause analysis of non-compliant orders. React and resolve issues by recommending appropriate fix to prevent future occurrences

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Supply Chain
  • Three to five years of customer service/logistics experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Demonstrated proficiency with a computer and MS software, especially Excel
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task and operate effectively and professionally in demanding situation
  • Self-motivated with strong decision-making skills and solid business judgment
