Business IT Associate
Gorton’s, America’s leader in frozen seafood, is seeking candidates for an exciting opportunity within our Information Technology Associate program. The IT Associate program is designed to develop future Management Information Systems leaders by offering broad experiences within both the IT Development and Infrastructure areas. You will partner with peers in areas such as Marketing, Sales, Finance, Manufacturing, R&D and Supply Chain to identify innovative ways to leverage technology that contributes to business success. You will develop your technical expertise while also learning our business. You will work closely with peers within and outside the IT area and with senior management, in a team environment, discussing actual business challenges and developing solutions. Typical projects and responsibilities of this role include:
- Collaborating with cross-functional business teams to address technology challenges
- Core applications development and support
- Assisting with development operations support
- Researching new technology trends and opportunities
- Working closely with outside vendors and consultants
- Providing dedicated end-user support
- Coordinating system implementations and new application releases
The goal of this program is to provide experiences within the Information Technology area that will allow you to work with users from many different departments and work on many different projects. An ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
- BS Degree in an Information Technology field or in Business with an interest in Management Information Systems
- A strong business orientation
- Solid project management skills
- Knowledge of database concepts
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and grow
- Some computer programming experience (preferably work related experience)
- General knowledge of servers, networks, PC’s and laptops
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively on cross functional teams
