Position Summary

The Accounting Analyst will provide accounting and analysis support for capital investments as well as other accounting and manufacturing related tasks.


  • Prepare detailed annual budgets for all fixed asset investments and activities in collaboration with project managers. Budgets will include proposed capital spending, depreciation expense, and expected fixed asset write-offs.
  • Provide ongoing tracking and analysis that includes updating and publishing actual spending and forecasts vs. budget.
  • Work closely with project managers and other key managers to ensure spending is in accordance with budgets and published capital spending controls and procedures.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries as needed to accrue for spending, depreciation, or write-offs as needed.
  • Maintain fixed asset system within Gorton’s ERP system.
  • Provide support in the capital proposal process for payback, ROI, and other financial implications.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis support as needed.
  • Provide support for other accounting related tasks.

Qualifications Desired:

  • Desire for a career in Corporate Finance/Accounting
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Strong business analysis skills (prefer some relevant work experience)
  • Well-developed PC skills
  • Ability to leverage information to develop insightful business judgment
  • Initiative - a self starter
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Potential for advancement
