Position Summary:

The Seafood Center Electrician will support the Production and Maintenance teams, and work closely with the Engineering team on electrical instrumentation and equipment, including installations, maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting.

What you’ll do:

  • Read, understand, and interpret schematics, ladder drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturer’s manuals related to repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical
  • Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot electrical systems including, but not limited to, generators, PLC’s, HMI’s, electric motors, motor controls, flow equipment, alarm and telemetry systems, heating and exhaust systems, conduits, cable, and relays.
  • Communicate with external and internal customers in a professional manner concerning all pertinent machine data that impacts the user's ability to run equipment or systems.
  • Contact and work with independent contractors regarding electrical instrumentation and control system repairs and installations.
  • Assist vendors during retrofits, modifications, or implementation of equipment methodology.
  • Proficient in the utilization of multimeters, meggers, oscilloscopes, frequency generators, data loggers, and assorted hand tools and documentation of measurements.
  • Perform electrical repairs in accordance with National Electric Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA-70E), local government code, and Occupational Safety and Hazards Association OSHA guidelines.
  • Actively engaged in safety, participating in safety programs, safety activities, perform risk assessments, and demonstrate ownership and leadership in personal safety and of other team members.

What we prefer you have:

  • Massachusetts Journeymen’s Electrical License.
  • ISA Certified Controls System Technician Level 1.
  • 5+ years of troubleshooting experience in electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation equipment.
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Superior technical skills (mechanical/electrical).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
